The Drake has been part of Canmore since 1988. That's over three decades of cold pints poured, pizzas shared, birthdays celebrated, live bands on the main stage, and a front-row seat to one of the most beautiful mountain towns in Canada. We source from farms that answer the phone after 5 a.m., pay our cooks to taste obsessively, and keep the music just loud enough to make small talk optional. Because dinner should feel less like a checklist and more like an inside joke you’re glad you’re in on.
A lot has changed in Canmore since then. The Drake has changed too, new name, new look, a brewery of our own. But the ownership is the same. The team is the same. And the reason we open our doors every day is the same: this town deserves a great local pub, and we intend to keep being it.

Part of Something Bigger.
The Drake is one of three brands under the same roof and the same ownership. The Drake Inn next door has been welcoming guests to Canmore since 1988. Screaming Retriever Brewing Co. takes our beer to the rest of Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Three siblings. Same family. Different characters.
“I think when people think of The Drake, they think friendship … it was always a generational place. You always felt comfortable at that age of 18, 19, 20, all the way up to 75 and 80 years old, and we want to continue that and I think by bringing this brewery partnership, it just adds something new for us and for the town,”
